The role of the ICLA officer is to deliver high-quality information, counselling and legal assistance services within the delegated thematic and geographical portfolio.
Key Task and Responsibilities
Facilitate the provision of information about the Legal Identity and Housing land and property (HLP) rights and entitlements of beneficiaries. Facilitate individual and group legal counselling from the help desk, ICLA-Hub and during mobiles visitsย Support and mobilize beneficiaries for enabling them to address their legal issuesย relating to their Legal identity and HLP rights independently.ย Provide follow-up and direct legal assistance on issues which cannot be addressed by beneficiaries independently.ย Liaison and collaborate with relevant local authorities and stakeholders. Conduct or assist training on Legal Identity, Housing land and property (HLP) rights andย Collaborative Dispute Resolution (CDR) to NRC staff, stakeholders and beneficiaries.ย Contribute to the monitoring and mapping exercises organized and/or participated in by NRCย Cooperate with relevant NRC core competencies and support units to develop integrated responses to the beneficiariesโ needs Perform any other tasks as requested by ICLA Coordinator / PM. ย ย ย ยKey Education and Skills Requirements
University degree in law, social work, social science, or another relevant field from a recognized institution. Extensive experience working in the field with displaced and/or vulnerable groups and communities and government authorities Previous experience in the Rohingya responseย Fluency in English, both written and verbalย Excellent computer proficiency Proven expertise in protection, and HLP rights with strong knowledge of housing and land laws, procedures, and practices in Bangladesh Oral proficiency in the Chittagonian dialect.ยAdditional Informationย
