Health System and Population Science Division is implementing a study at Matlab named โBuilding capacity to study mixed metal-induced neurotoxicity in rural Bangladeshi childrenโ funded by NIH through Sam Houston State University, USA. The project is looking for suitable candidates for the post advertised.
Position Description
The Project Research Physician will report to the Principal Investigator (PI) and will be responsible for implementing research activities to generate knowledge through identifying, and recruiting study participants, data collecting, and quality monitoring following the research protocols, organizational values, and guidelines, e.g. Institutional Governance Framework - IGF and Gender Diversity Guidelines. S/he will be involved in -
Assist in identifying and recruiting study participants in the selected health facilities; Regular monitoring of the nurse and data collection; Liaison with the Government and other stakeholders working in the project regularly; Coordinate with other implementing partners; Address queries made by supervisors, investigators, donors and finalize clinical reports; Supervise and troubleshoot field problems, if required; Documentation of project milestone achievements; Prepare and share weekly and monthly reports, work plans, and deliverables; Review the information of collected data and develop possible manuscript ideas under the guidance of the Principal Investigator and Co-investigators; Create content for the application considering contextual and age-specific perspectives; Create reports with findings and share them with the supervisor; Write sections of the manuscript under the supportive guidance of the supervisor; Support team members for completion of tasks, reports and documents; Provide on-the-job training to the junior staffs; Provide feedback on team members' performance to the supervisor to develop an efficient team.Required qualifications and experience:
Duty Station: Mohakhali Campus, Dhaka (Will have to visit frequently the study site of Matlab & Arai Hazar Upazila under Chandpur and Narayanganj districts respectively.)
Contract Type and Duration:
Short-Term Contractual Service Agreement: The initial duration will be 5 months with a possibility of extension subject to availability of funds and performance.Salary & benefits:
Tk.60,220/- (consolidated) per month inclusive of house rent and conveyance allowances. Festival bonus, income tax paid by icddr,b and subsidized canteen. Transport and daycare facilities are subject to space availability.Notes of attention:
