Setting and ReportingThis position is located in the Office for Coordination and Shared Services (OCSS), serving the Departments of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs (DPPA) and Peace Operations (DPO). The position will sit in the Gender Parity, Diversity and Inclusion Team and support the Network for Uniformed Women Peacekeepers and wider efforts to deliver on the Uniformed Gender Parity Strategy for UN Peacekeeping (2018-2028). The Network for Uniformed Women Peacekeepers was first launched in November 2023 to connect female military, police, justice and corrections personnel in UN Peacekeeping for peer support and exchange of deployment experiences. The Network also aims to enhance support and networking opportunities for uniformed women and elevate issues and support needs with mission leadership and other mission and Secretariat stakeholders. The Network consists of an online platform and online network activities. The project is undertaken in close coordination with the Office of Military Affairs, Police Division and Justice and Corrections Service. ResponsibilitiesWithin delegated authority, the Associate Programme Management Officer will be responsible for the following duties: • Plans and facilitates online workshops, seminars, and other interactive sessions for uniformed women peacekeepers and assists in follow up. • Undertakes outreach activities, including participate in the development of online workshops to promote the network, development of promotional and communication materials, newsletters, and online platform/ resource hub. • Participates in and makes presentations on assigned topics/activities related to the Network for Uniformed Women Peacekeepers and wider Uniformed Gender Parity Strategy. • Assists in the monitoring and evaluation of the project and ongoing lessons learned initiatives, including collecting, analyzing and presenting data and other information gathered from diverse sources (surveys, interviews, focus groups). • Contributes to the preparation of various written outputs and presentations on the Network for Uniformed Women Peacekeepers and wider Uniformed Gender Parity Strategy, e.g. draft background papers, analytical notes, sections of reports and studies, and briefings to UN stakeholders, the project donor and UN Member States. • Provides administrative and substantive support to consultative and other meetings, conferences, etc., to include proposing agenda topics, identifying and proposed participants, preparation of background documents and presentations, handling logistics, etc. • Participates in field missions, including provision of substantive and administrative support, data collection, etc. • Supports project management activities, including reporting and budget funding, as required (e.g., programme/project preparation and submissions, progress reports etc.) and preparation of related documents/reports (pledging, work programme, programme budget, etc.). • Performs other duties related to the Network for Uniformed Women and wider implementation of the Uniformed Gender Parity Strategy as required. Experience with supporting monitoring and evaluation and/or lessons learned initiatives, including data collection and analysis, is required.
