We are recruiting a Campaigner in Poland. The role of the Campaigner is to support BFFโs European campaign related to phasing out coal in favor of renewables, with a special emphasis in Poland.ย

Location: Anywhere in Poland.
Please note that we are unable to provide relocation support, either from outside Europe or within Europe. The role can be performed remotely from anywhere in Poland.
Your responsibilities
Work closely with allies in Poland to identify opportunities and develop winning strategies with s to BFFโs European campaign (40%). This includes:
Understanding and supporting the needs and priorities of BFF member organisations and allies in Poland, including through coordinating regular calls;ย
Coordinating activities with Polish BFF member organisations on communications, advocacy and campaign pushes. This includes press releases and media pitching;
Expert understanding of the policy and politics of the energy transition in Poland, especially on renewable energy and clean flexibility, energy markets and grids, plants (coal and gas), and mines and regions;
Coordinating responses to coal plant closures, government coal announcements, and developments in coal regions in transition in Poland;
A special emphasis on identifying BFFโs campaign priorities for Polandโs just transition away from fossil fuels, and the central role that local energy solutions, such as renewables and clean flexibility, play in that.ย
Support BFFโs coal campaign (60%) by:ย
Coordinating, in laboration with others, the implementation of BFFโs coal campaign priorities across Europe;ย
Working with the BFF data and comms teams to keep the BFFโs coal exit data tool updated and relevant. Be the campaign point person for the data team on coal plants;
Leading on promoting wins in the coal phase-out campaign, including key developments such as power plant and mine closures, and national phase-out key moments;ย
Working with the BFF campaign team to develop coal and just transition work that s with renewables and clean flexibility solutions;ย
Contributing to the BFF strategy processes and annual planning.ย
Required skills & experience
You have at least five years of experience working in the field of energy, climate and just transition;ย
Fluent in spoken and written Polish and English;
You have at least three years of experience in developing campaign strategies for civil society organisations and running campaigns;
Expertise and thorough understanding of the policy, dynamics and politics of the energy transition in Poland;
Strong interpersonal skills, competency at facilitating and supporting the work of others, and the ability to build common cause and reach agreements among multi-organisational teams;
You possess excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly, comprehensibly and concisely;
Proficiency in using Google productivity tools (Docs, Slides, Calendar, etc.);
You are highly organised and capable of balancing multiple priorities;
You are confident working remotely with a broad range of people from different countries, cultures, and backgrounds;
You are passionate about promoting a healthy, environmentally friendly, and fair society.
Desirable skills & experience
Some knowledge of European energy markets and power grids;
Fluency in other European languages, especially from the CEE region;
Some experience working with local-level actors, such as municipal authorities.
