Founded in 1951, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) is an intergovernmental organization within the UN system, committed to fostering humane and orderly migration. The IOM's approach to migrant vulnerability emphasizes the promotion and protection of human rights, ensuring necessary support and assistance for all migrants facing vulnerable situations. In doing so, IOM applies whole-of-government approach aside from the whole-of-society. It means, through its presence, IOM respond to request from the government and support their responsibilities as duty bearers to protect, respect, andย fulfill the rights and fundamental freedoms of all migrants, without any discrimination.ย
Under the ongoing projects onย Enhancing the Capacity of Thailand to Combat Trafficking in Persons and Smuggling of Migrants through Enhanced Border Management and upcoming project onย Enhancing Safe and Regular Pathways in Thailand by Supporting the Roll Out of the Royal Thai Government's Five-Year Action Plan on Anti- Human Traffickingโ, IOM aims to conduct gap analysis assessment of Thailand Migration Policies. ย

The consultancy will contribute to the ongoingย projects implemented by the Protection Unit of IOM Thailand.ย
Support the project team and the Steering Committee of NRM (SC NRM) to organize coordination meetings at central and provincial levelSupport the team in the implementation of awareness raising programmes to prevent TIP and SOM at provincial level. This includes assisting civil society organizations that partner with IOM to deliver community outreach and other types of activities related to the prevention of TIP and Smuggling of Migrant at grassroot levelsParticipate in coordination meetings and consultative meetings withย SC NRM as requested andย draft minutes of meetingsRespond to general information requests and inquiries, including informal non-official translation of various documents, set up and maintain files/record.ย Perform any other related duties as may be assigned by Project ManagerThe payment will be provided in monthly basis amounting USD 1,975.24 per month with detail as follows:

Satisfactory completion of all tasks listed aboveTimely submission of all key deliverables listed aboveAdherence to IOM Brand Guidelines and other visibility requirementsQuality of final products Education High School diploma with at least four years of relevant professional experience, orBachelorโs degree or higher from an accredited academic institution, preferably in Law, Political Science, International Relations or a related field with at least two years of experienceExperience Experience in migration, counter trafficking and human rights issues in Thailand is an advantageSignificant practical experience and knowledge of working with diverse stakeholder groups, including with governmental partners and civil society organizations at central and provincial levelWork experience in border provinces of Thailand-Myanmar will be advantagesSkills Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision;Personal commitment, efficiency, and flexibility;Gender-sensitive, culture-sensitive, and able to work with colleagues from diverse cultural backgrounds.Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet deadlinesExcellent language and communication skills in Thai and EnglishLanguages Excellent language and communication skills in Thai and English.IOMโs official languages are English, French and Spanish.Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.ย Travel required Should the Consultant be required to travel by the Organization, the Consultant will be provided with transportation or reimbursed for the cost of their travel following advance agreement and in accordance with IOMโs travel policies, including IN/6.
