Purpose of Job

The Procurement Director is responsible for the delivery of the Bankโ€™s commitments in regards to Procurement in all its activities as enunciated in the Articles Establishing the Bank and the commitments of the Procurement Policies and Rules.

The role has the overall responsibility for determining the strategic direction and operational objectives of the Procurement Policy and Advisory Department. Working closely with ExCom members and senior management across EBRD, the Director of Procurement ensures that the Procurement function of the Bank is equipped with the adequate staff, policies, guidance, and tools to ensure that tendering and contracting financed by the Bank is carried out in accordance with the agreed procedures. This major role includes to achieve optimum efficiency, cost effectiveness and timely completion of operations financed by the EBRD and to mitigate and minimise negative reputational impacts of procurement issues. The Director also represents management vis-ร -vis the Bankโ€™s Board of Directors on all procurement issues related to Bank Operations.
