IC: Strategic Thinking Training
As part of the Africa Talent 2025, Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) Africa Regional Office is organizing a series of professional development sessions designed to strengthen the leadership, innovation, and strategic capabilities of GGGI Africa staff. These sessions aim to cultivate a growth-oriented, collaborative, and forward-thinking work culture that supports GGGIโs mission to promote sustainable, climate resilient, and inclusive growth across Africa.
Within this framework, GGGI seeks a qualified trainer to deliver a two-hour interactive training on Strategic Thinking for GGGI staff participating in the Africa Talent 2025 event in Dakar, Senegal (December 4-5, 2025).

Objectives of the assignment
The primary objective of this session is to strengthen participantsโ ability to think strategically and apply long-term systems-based perspectives in their work. The session should:
Introduce the fundamentals and frameworks of strategic thinking relevant to international development and green growth organizations. Enhance participantsโ skills in scenario analysis, problem structuring, and decision-making under uncertainty. Encourage strategic alignment across projects, country programs, and regional priorities. Provide practical exercises and group discussions to apply concepts in real GGGI contexts (e.g., program planning, partnership building, resource mobilization).The trainer will be responsible for:
Designing and delivering a two-hour in-person training session in Dakar on 4 December, tailored to a diverse group of professionals across GGGI Africa. Providing session materials (slides, handouts, or case exercises). Facilitating participatory discussions and interactive activities. Submitting a brief post-session summary (1-2 pages) capturing key takeaways and participant feedback.Resources:
The selected trainer will be provided with a copy of the GGGI Updated Strategy 2030, examples of Africa Country Planning Frameworks and the current Africa Regional Strategy to provide context to the training.

Expertise required
The description of required expert may be split into following parts:
Masterโs degree in Organizational Development, Strategy, Education, or a related field At least 7 years of experience in organizational development, leadership training, or strategy consulting. Good understanding in adult learning methodologies Demonstrated expertise in strategic thinking, systems thinking, or adaptive leadership. Strong facilitation and communication skills, with experience delivering sessions for multicultural teams. Familiarity with international organizations or the development sector preferred.
