Consultancy Opportunity: Integrated Program Support - VCCRP

The Vanuatu Community-based Climate Resilience Project (VCCRP) is the largest community- based, locally led, climate change adaptation project delivered in the Pacific region. The project aims to reduce the climate-related vulnerabilities of the most vulnerable communities across 282 communities in the six provinces of Vanuatu, increasing communitiesโ€™ resilience to climate variability, extremes and change to ensure a good quality of life in the face of continuing climate change.

VCCRP was established by the Government of Vanuatu in partnership with Save the Children Australia and Save the Children Vanuatu and is implemented in partnership with the Ministry of Climate Change Adaptation, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Ministry of Fisheries, Oceans, and Maritime Affairs, Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources and Save the Children Vanuatu.

VCCRP is primarily funded by the Green Climate Fund (GCF), with significant co-financing and support from the Government of Vanuatu, the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), and Save the Children Australia and Vanuatu.

Where you come in:

The consultant will work closely with the VCCRP Project Management Unit (PMU) and implementing partners to develop knowledge products, communications tools, data visualisations, and training materials suitable for diverse audiences including donors, provincial stakeholders, and rural communities with low literacy levels. Outputs will be designed to be deliverable via print, digital, audio, and verbal mediums.

Key responsibilities include:

ยท Develop infographics and visual summaries of community environmental management plans.

ยท Create visual tools to clarify linkages between project activities in line with the projectโ€™s Theory of Change.

ยท Consolidate and contextualize existing resources to provide simple online safety awareness materials and access to climate and early warning information for multimedia delivery.

ยท Analyze and visualize Community-Based Adaptation Plans and other project data.

ยท Develop simple training packages and facilitation guides for provincial staff.

ยท Update project maps and support mapping of internet installations using accessible software.

ยท Ensure all materials are culturally appropriate, contextually relevant, and accessible for low-literacy audiences.

Key Qualifications & Skills:

ยท Proven experience in communications, data visualization, and training development.

ยท Familiarity with climate resilience and/or adaptation concepts.

ยท Experience working with rural communities in Vanuatu or similar contexts.

ยท Demonstrated experience working with NGOs or Government in Vanuatu

ยท Fluent in Bislama and English, with translation skills.

ยท Skilled in utilizing mapping tools and multimedia content creation.

ยท Flexible, highly proactive, and culturally sensitive.

ยท Based in Vanuatu or able to travel regularly (at least quarterly).
