UNOPS - HAMCO_ South Sudan Office is recruiting for the position of Mechanic for either Light or Heavy duty to be based in Juba - South Sudan

Functional Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Motor Transport Officer (MTO) / Supervisor, the Vehicle Technician is responsible to maintain, service, repair and operate Light and Heavy Duty vehicles of various Makes/Models in accordance with manufacturer specifications and recommendations and to ensures that all relevant safety procedures are being followed when repairing/operating vehicles/equipment. The Vehicle Technician will be responsible for the following duties:
Maintenance and repair of Light and heavy vehicles Maintenance and repair of heavy equipment Drive light and heavy vehicles. Operate heavy and light equipment. Prepare and draft spare part requisition required to perform his duty. Must have knowledge in vehicle electrical system. Drive various models of heavy and light trucks to deliver gravel, fuel, water, and other supplies to remote areas in South Sudan. Drive heavy and light recovery trucks to recover breakdown vehicles. Check to ensure all relevant vehicle documents such as maintenance record cards, insurance, car log, tools and equipment issued to the vehicles are in place. Arrange washing and cleaning of vehicles and equipment after use. Drive and operate the light and heavy Sewage Truck as and when it is required. Perform various additional duties as and when assigned by the MTO/Supervisor or the workshop Manager. Education A high school diploma or secondary school certificate is required. 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of Secondary School certificate Certification - Valid driving license is required.
Experience
At least two (2) years of relevant experience (Vehicle Maintenance) with secondary school certificate is required;
Repairs and operates various models of vehicle/equipment in the selected location including heavy
Equipment and Heavy Transport Equipment is required.
Experience with other UN agencies is an added asset.
Language Requirement:Fluency in written, reading and oral English is required. Contract type, level and duration
