Role Purpose\n\n
We are seeking a\nhighly organized and motivated individual with a solid background in advocacy\non migration and human rights. The ideal candidate will coordinate projects\nefficiently, contribute to strategic advocacy efforts and develop the capacity\nof IDC members. Role Summary\n\n
The MENA Programme Officer will play a key role in supporting IDC's\nmission in the region by combining strong organizational and coordination\nskills with a solid understanding of advocacy on migration and human rights.\nWorking closely with the MENA Regional Manager, the Programme Officer will\ncontribute to the design and implementation of regional programs, events, and\nadvocacy strategies. The role involves providing operational, administrative,\nresearch, and communications support, as well as helping to strengthen networks\nwith members, partners, decision makers and other key stakeholders across the\nMENA region. The Programme Officer will work remotely and should be available\nto travel within the region as needed.\n\n
Roleย Responsibilities\n\n\n\n
Project implementation and\nsupport to IDC members and partners\n\n
โย ย ย ย ย \nContribute to the implementation of\nnational and regional projects and events by providing technical,\nadministrative, and logistical support to the MENA Regional Programme and in\ncollaboration with relevant IDC staff and members\n\n
โย ย ย ย ย \nSupport the overall\nimplementation of IDC's mission and strategic priorities in the MENA region through\na balance of operational efficiency and advocacy engagement.\n\n

Advocacy and Stakeholder Engagement\n\n

- Support the\n development and implementation of advocacy strategies related to\n immigration detention, alternatives to detention, and broader migrant and\n refugee rights.\n
- Engage\n effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including government\n representatives, civil society actors, UN agencies, and regional networks,\n to build partnerships and advance shared objectives.\n
- Contribute\n to drafting and disseminating advocacy materials, briefing notes, and\n strategic communications tailored to diverse audiences across the MENA\n region.\n
- Maintain\n regular contact with IDC members and partners to identify policy gaps,\n advocacy opportunities, and spaces for support, partnership and coordinated\n action.\n
- Assist in\n the planning and facilitation of stakeholder consultations, trainings, and\n regional events that promote rights-based alternatives, pathways and\n regional dialogue.\n\n\n

Internal Systems, Monitoring, and Institutional\nSupport\n\n

- Actively contribute\n to IDC's fundraising efforts by providing background research, identifying\n potential funders, coordinating s, and play an active role in the\n drafting of proposals aligned with regional priorities\n
- Ensure\n accurate and timely monitoring and reporting of programmatic activities,\n supporting internal evaluation processes and donor accountability in line\n with IDC's MEL systems.\n
- Maintain\n organized records of project outcomes, stakeholder engagement, and\n communications to support institutional memory and knowledge sharing.\n
- Assist in\n the preparation of high-quality reports, updates, and documentation for\n internal use, funders, and external dissemination.\n
- Support\n budget tracking, planning, and financial monitoring processes in\n laboration with the Regional Manager, Executive Director, and relevant\n IDC staff.\n\n\n

Essential Criteria\n\n\n\n
ยทย ย ย ย ย ย \nDemonstrated\nunderstanding of the North African and Middle Eastern contexts, particularly\nrelated to migration, human rights, and advocacy.\n\n
ยทย ย ย ย ย ย \nA university degree in a\nrelevant field such as international relations, law, migration studies,\npolitical science, or social sciences.\n\n
ยทย ย ย ย ย ย \nA minimum of five years\nof professional experience, including project coordination, stakeholder\nengagement, and advocacy in the migration and/or human rights sectors.\n\n
ยทย ย ย ย ย ย \nProven experience in\nreporting and follow-up, including contributions to monitoring, evaluation and\nlearning (MEL) processes and reporting experience.\n\n
ยทย ย ย ย ย ย \nStrong communication,\nwriting, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple\npriorities and work independently in a remote setting.\n\n
ยทย ย ย ย ย ย \nExperience engaging\neffectively with diverse stakeholders, including civil society, government\nactors, and international organizations, to advance advocacy and laboration.\n\n
