Project Context and Scope

In response to the educational and psychosocial needs of migrant children, this initiative seeks to design and implement a child-centred, participatory, and inclusive educational program. The program aims to provide tailored support to children throughout their displacement while facilitating their preparation for reintegration into the education system of their country of origin. It will foster childrenโ€™s well-being, cognitive and emotional development, and environmental awareness through creative, interactive, and age-appropriate approaches.

  • ย Design and implement an adapted educational program for migrant children, focusing on capacity reinforcement, school reintegration, and well-being. The consultant will ensure the delivery of tailored, participatory, and inclusive activities that respond to the diverse backgrounds of the children (nationality, age, language). The consultant will be responsible for carrying out the following key tasks:
    • Design an adapted educational program addressing the specific needs of migrant children, with a focus on strengthening language skills (particularly French and English), basic literacy (reading and writing), numeracy and mathematics, as well as exploratory subjects such as science and technology, STEM, geography, and experimental sciences. The program should support capacity building and school reintegration while applying inclusive learning methods responsive to age, nationality, and linguistic diversity.ย 
    • Implement the educational program On-Site through the facilitation of child-friendly and interactive learning sessions that foster active participation, engagement, and confidence-building among children.
      • Develop and lead recreational workshops that promote the well-being, psychosocial development, and emotional resilience of children, ensuring that the activities are playful, creative, and culturally appropriate.
        • Design and conduct a comprehensive evaluation process at multiple stages of the program, including an initial needs assessment and level testing, ongoing monitoring of individual progress, and a final evaluation to measure learning outcomes and program impact.
          • Ensure timely delivery of all expected outputs and reports, including program documentation, evaluation findings, and training materials, in accordance with the established timeline and quality standards.

            • University degree in Education, Child Development, Social Sciences, or related fields.
            • Training in inclusive education, child protection, or non-formal education is an asset.Experience
              • Proven experience (minimum 3 years) in designing and implementing educational or psychosocial programs for children, preferably in humanitarian, migration, or displacement contexts.
              • Previous involvement in programs focusing on child protection, school reintegration, or non-formal education.
              • Demonstrated ability to work with children from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
              • ย Experience in using participatory, child-friendly, and inclusive methodologies in educational settings.

                Skills

              • Strong facilitation and communication skills, with the ability to engage children of different age groups through creative and interactive approaches.
              • Capacity to design culturally appropriate, inclusive, and adaptable educational content.
              • Ability to conduct assessments and evaluations using both qualitative and quantitative tools.
              • Organizational and time-management skills to meet deadlines and coordinate with multiple teams.
              • Sensitivity to child protection and safeguarding principles.
              • Fluency in [language(s) required, e.g., English and French]; knowledge of additional local or migrant languages is an asset.Languages
