Context ย Under the overall supervision of the IOM Libya Deputy Chief of Mission, direct supervision of the Immigration & Border Management Officer (IBM) Officer, the Reporting & Capacity Building Associate will support all reporting responsibilities related to IBM projects as well as research and evaluation tasks related to this domain.
1. Support the IBM Project Manager in drafting project proposals by providing relevant information and reports.ย
2. Support the establishment of a reporting system, draft regular reports, updates and briefings on the progress in the implementation and achievements, based on the inputs from other staff.ย
3. Draft clear and concise reports, briefings and power-point presentations for various meetings, workshops, conferences and engagements with donors related to IBM projects and programmes implemented in Libya.
4. Draft progress reports for all IBM projects, based on results-based monitoring and evaluation, including information regarding the impact of projects, and provide timely submission of reports, in coordination with External Relations, PDSU and PIO, as necessary.
5. Collaborate on the implementation of IOMโs IBM work plans and monitoring and evaluation mechanisms.
6. Provide support in the preparation of project implementation plans, annual work plans and budgets, availing required documentation.ย
7. Compile quarterly reports documenting project progress and verify they are consistent with the results framework.ย
8. Participate in programme and projects reviews related to reporting, monitoring and evaluation activities, and draft minutes of meetings.ย
9. Assist in liaison work with the government officials, aiming to maintain close cooperation and working relationship in the implementation of IBM projects.ย
10. Monitor the activity of implementing partners and verify they deliver planned assistance to the beneficiaries within the timeframe and according to work plans, including in relation to financial tracking, information management and reporting.ย
11. Under the guidance of the IBM Project Manager, draft project reports, filing systems, recordings, forms and tracking tools.ย
12. Assist with the production and dissemination of information and visibility material, including drafting of contents for brochures, web sites, newsletters, leaflets.ย
13. Organize events, meetings and training with beneficiaries, civil society organizations, NGOs, embassies and all other relevant stakeholders with the aim of promoting IBM activities and disseminate its results.
14. Draft or prepare informal translations from English to Arabic and Arabic to English of official correspondence, reports, note to file, statements and handouts.
15. Perform other such duties as may be assigned by the IBM Project Manager or the IOM Deputy Chief of Mission.
Education
- Bachelorโs degree from an accredited educational institution in social sciences, law, development studies, statistics, economics or another related field with three years of professional experience; or,
- High School diploma with five years of relevant professional experience. ย Experience
- At least four years of practical experience supporting the field of development, emergency relief, peacekeeping or peacebuilding, social affairs, political affairs, international affairs, with previous experience on reporting;ย
- Previous working experience in other international organizations or international NGOs is an advantage. Languages
For this position, fluency in English and Arabic is required (oral and written).
IOMโs official languages are English, French and Spanish.
