5 Steps to get a job in the United Nations

Mission and objectivesAs the lead United Nations agency on international development, UNDP works in 170 countries and territories to eradicate poverty and reduce inequality. We help countries develop policies, leadership skills, partnerships and institutional capabilities to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. Our work is centred around six core development areas, known as our signature solutions: poverty and inequality, governance, resilience, environment, energy and gender equality. UNDP’s mandate is to end poverty, build democratic governance, rule of law, and inclusive institutions. We advocate for change, and connect countries to knowledge, experience and resources to help people build a better life.

ContextThe Integrated National Financing Framework (INFF) approach helps governments develop financing strategies to mobilize and align resources for sustainable development. To track progress and generate evidence, UNDP conducts an annual survey across 80+ countries to collect data on implementation status, reforms, and results. To support the 2025 survey cycle, UNDP is seeking an Online Volunteer to assist with survey data analysis, policy research, and survey tool development. This role will help improve the quality of the survey and generate insights to inform global reporting, knowledge products, and strategic support to countries.

Task DescriptionThe selected Online Volunteer will support the UNDP INFF Facility in analyzing country responses from past INFF Annual Surveys and preparing for the 2025 survey cycle. This involves a continuous task of reviewing historical survey data, researching relevant national financing reforms to validate and contextualize responses, and contributing to the refinement of the upcoming survey instrument and data collection process. The goal is to improve the overall quality, clarity, and usefulness of survey data in capturing progress and results across countries implementing INFFs. In total there are 60-70 survey questionnaires.
