Org. Setting and ReportingThe United Nations Secretary-General is responsible for the investment of the assets of the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund (UNJSPF). The Secretary-General has delegated this responsibility to the Representative of the Secretary-General for the investment of the assets of the UNJSPF (RSG). The RSG is, in turn, assisted in this function by the Office of Investment Management (OIM). OIM manages a $100+ billion multi-asset class, global investment portfolio, about 85% of which is actively managed in-house. Asset classes under management comprise of global equities, fixed income, foreign exchange, private equity, real estate, infrastructure, timber and commodities. This position is located in the Infrastructure Team of the Information Systems Section. The incumbent reports to the Team Lead. ResponsibilitiesWithin delegated authority, the Information Systems Assistant will be responsible for the following duties: โข Provides support for computer information systems, databases and applications in assigned area; performs complex troubleshooting for various applications. โข Provide support and troubleshooting for Azure and M365 applications โข Provide support and troubleshooting for unix/linux systems and applications โข Participates in the development, programming, testing, debugging and implementation of new computer application systems releases, modules and functionalities; conducts version management. โข Designs and develops computer application systems and programs, typically using more than one programming language as well as UN established standards for IT technologies and tools. โข Installs computer application systems software and hardware according to specifications; monitors applications systems using appropriate monitoring tools and produces monitoring reports. โข Manages, designs, creates, produces and maintains technical documentation for relevant computer application systems and products; manages and administers changes to technical documentation in accordance with prevailing change management and operation procedures. โข Assists in developing/refining support and operations procedures for relevant computer applications systems, including programming requirements and recommendations to users for the programming interfaces. โข Serves as team leader in projects dealing with the planning, specification, design, development, implementation and maintenance of simple computer application systems; liaises with users to define and specify requirements; builds, tests and modifies prototype computer application systems; performs installation and maintenance of computer applications systems in user offices. โข Contributes to feasibility studies, systems analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation and testing of computer application systems improvements and new computer application systems. โข Assists in the identification of user computer application systems needs, including business process and document workflow analysis, organization and maintenance of document repositories; identifies classification schema, retention and archival procedures; designs and develops workflow systems; conducts research on document/information/knowledge management computer applicationsโ tools, procedures and standards. โข Provides support on computer application systems development matters, including security and data backup and recovery. โข Drafts correspondence and communications; including work plan revisions and other related issues, as well as prepares unit contributions for a variety of periodic reports. โข Keeps abreast of developments in the field; conducts research on new technologies; performs benchmarking and proposes new acquisitions; assists in the implementation of new technologies. โข Provides guidance and training to new/junior staff; plans day-to-day work and supervises other staff as required. โข Assists with the collection and analysis of data as well as preparation of data presentations and reports for information sharing, responding to queries, knowledge management, planning and decision making. โข Assists with visualizations and updating information material such as web pages or brochures. โข Performs other related duties as required. Work Experience10 years of experience in information systems analysis and programming, cloud systems and application administration and maintenance, software development, technical writing or related areas is required 5 years or more experience in managing and supporting users within a Financial Institution is required 5 years or more hands on experience in deployment and management of M365 (SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive), Exchange Online, Power Automate, Power Apps) which should include 3 years or more of Intune Management, Data Loss Prevention and Purview compliance policy implementation is required 3 years or more experience in configuring, deploying, and managing virtual desktop environments for both internal and BYOD devices is required 3 years or more experience in security assessments, Security Operation on Microsoft Defender and Phishing Simulations is required 1 year or more experience on deployment and support of Microsoft CoPilot is required Experience in migrating and management of on-prem services to cloud environment (including M365 such as Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive) is desirable 3 year experience in cloud-based Service Management tool like Service Now and in implementing ITIL framework is desirable Experience in project management methodology such as PRINCE2 is desirable 3 years or more of experience in data analytics and reporting or related areas are desirable LanguagesEnglish and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat.
