The incumbent reports to the Chief of UNJSPF/PA/IMSS (Chief Information Officer). ResponsibilitiesWithin delegated authority and depending on location, the Information Systems Officer (Data Architect) will be responsible for the following duties โ€ข Conceptualizes, develops a data strategy for the implementation of major systems initiatives concerning system data architecture and design; manages/oversees multiple, concurrent and often disparate tasks for projects that often involve innovative system development in cloud-based environments. โ€ข Provides authoritative technical and policy advice to senior managers on efficient and effective Data Architecture design in cloud-based environments to meet a changing business environment and the implications of various alternatives; develops and disseminates best practices. โ€ข Leads and directs a team of information systems officers in the Business Intelligence team on the development and maintenance of those systems and is integrated with the Enterprise Application Section annual workplan; plans and allocates work assignments; coaches, mentors, and evaluates staff; participates in recruitment and selection of new staff and in the development of training programs. โ€ข Develops and monitors performance measures; ensures that projects meet established time and cost parameters and standards of technical quality. โ€ข Prepares and monitors the budget, work program, and spending plan assigned to that team. โ€ข Develop innovative data architecture solutions to resolve intricate problems that impact a critical area of the organizationโ€™s work. โ€ข Ensures the development of standards, procedures and practices to ensure a stable and effective data design standards. โ€ข Leads team members efforts to collect and analyze data and provides insight to identify trends or patterns for data-driven planning, decision-making, presentation and reporting. Work ExperienceA minimum of ten years of progressively responsible experience in planning, design, development, implementation and maintenance of complex data architectures is required. A background in BI/analytics platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau), is required. Expertise in SQL, data modeling, ETL/ELT, and database design is required. Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance frameworks is required. Handsโ€‘on experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP) is desirable.
