Department Context
The WBG Corporate Solutions Department (ITSCO) is focused on the digital transformation of essential corporate services to ensure WBG operations are seamless, resilient, and futureโready. Uniting digitalization roadmaps, experience design, process optimization, application delivery, systems management, and technology modernization across some 170 products and services, the department links business ambition with operational excellenceโfrom intuitive employee experiences and precision payroll to data-driven decision making, intelligent automation, and AI enablement. Operating from Washington, Chennai, Sofia, and Singapore in a global delivery model, the team seeks to combine disciplined strategic planning with focused roadmaps, agile product delivery, designโforward innovation, digital engineering, automation, and AI to produce solutions that are engaging, impactful, and efficient. Unit Context
The Corporate Digital Acceleration unit serves as an active innovator and designer for the digitalization of the World Bank Groupโs most essential corporate functions and processes and the technology systems that support them. Addressing approximately 25 operational value streams across nearly two dozen corporate VPUs and all four WBG institutions, the unit acts as a catalyst for modernizing how corporate business is conducted. Its mandate is to integrate forwardโlooking disciplinesโbusiness architecture, strategy road mapping, design thinking, rapid prototyping, rigorous process analysis, and intelligent automationโinto a unified transformation capability that addresses immediate operational challenges while positioning corporate functions for longโterm agility and performance. At its core, the unit advances a OneWBG-first approach, ensuring transformation efforts are strategically aligned, interoperable, and mutually reinforcing across the WBG's corporate solutions.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Senior Experience Designer, Corporate Digital Acceleration, will be responsible for shaping and delivering user-centered digital experiences that support the World Bank Groupโs essential corporate functions and processes. This role leverages design thinking, prototyping, and data storytelling to translate user needs and business objectives into engaging, accessible, and impactful solutions. The Senior Experience Designer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders to conduct user research, develop wireframes and prototypes, and optimize digital products through iterative testing and feedback. By championing design excellence and continuous improvement, the Senior Experience Designer will ensure that digital solutions drive innovation, enhance user satisfaction, and advance the WBGโs digital transformation agenda.
User Research and Feedback Gathering
โข Conduct user research and usability testing to collect insights that inform design decisions.
โข Analyze user feedback and performance metrics to refine and enhance design solutions.
โข Translate user feedback from research, help desk tickets, analytics, and other channels into actionable product design improvements.
Design User Experiences
โข Design accessible, user-centered experiences across digital platforms to improve user satisfaction and engagement.
โข Adhere to design standards and guidelines to ensure consistency across all platforms.
โข Support the development and ongoing improvement of the organizationโs user experience vision, ensuring alignment with business objectives and market dynamics.
โข Optimize user experiences for various applications through user research, digital experience strategy, information architecture, interaction design, visual design, and usability testing.
โข Translate user needs and business requirements into features and functionality for engaging digital experiences.
Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration
โข Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify and eliminate obstacles, ensuring seamless progress and timely updates on product design initiatives.
โข Design wireframes and prototypes to effectively communicate design ideas and concepts to business stakeholders.
โข Advocate for strong user experiences by communicating end-user needs clearly and effectively to business stakeholders.
โข Facilitate design thinking workshops and design sprints to help delivery teams and business stakeholders align on user-centered product strategy.
Prototyping and Data Storytelling
โข Develop wireframes, prototypes, and storyboards to visualize and communicate design concepts.
โข Apply data storytelling techniques to present user insights and design rationale to stakeholders.
โข Continuous Improvement and Knowledge Sharing
โข Provide knowledge-based guidance to junior staff within the job area.
โข Seek common ground and negotiate issues with internal and/or external clients to recommend solutions for higher-level approval.
โข Establish continuous improvement feedback loops within the team, including design critiques and knowledge sharing sessions.

Selection Criteria
โข Masterโs degree with 7 years of relevant experience, or Bachelorโs degree with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
โข Certification in Agile methodologies (e.g., SAFe Agilist or similar) and Experience Design (e.g. HFI CXA, IDEO U Foundational Design Thinking, or NNG UX) required.
โข Demonstrated ability to design accessible, user-centered digital experiences and optimize them through iterative research and testing.
โข Advanced proficiency in design thinking frameworks, wireframing, prototyping, UI/UX research, and persona development.
โข Demonstrated ability to design and scale User Experience teams at an enterprise level. Skilled in mobile-first design, storyboarding, interaction design, usability testing, and information architecture.
โข Skilled in Agile methodologies and proven experience integrating design thinking and user experience design into the Agile product delivery process.
โข Familiar with artificial intelligence (AI) concepts as applied to design.
โข Ability to collaborate with stakeholders, negotiate solutions, and communicate design concepts effectively.
