    The Salary for this position is in range of INR 1,05,000 to 1,29,000 per month (Plus Medical Coverage and Death & Disability Coverage) and final compensation will be based on the experience and qualification. All Tax liability for payments from this contract are to be borne by the subscriber.

    JOB PURPOSE

    The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) India, as an institutional partner to the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare (MoAFW), Government of India, is extending technical and logistical support to the Ministry in the planning, coordination, and organisation of activities under the Agriculture Working Group (AWG) for Indiaโ€™s BRICS Presidency 2026.

    To facilitate the effective execution of these responsibilities, WFP will deploy Consultant to the International Cooperation (IC) Division of DA&FW. The selected professional will work in close coordination with WFP India and MoAFW, while being seconded to the Ministry for a period of one year, dedicated exclusively to substantive and logistical tasks related to BRICS AWG activities.

    The Consultant will provide high-quality analytical, technical, and logistical support to the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare for Indiaโ€™s BRICS Presidency 2026, particularly in the planning and coordination of BRICS AWG meetings, events, and deliverables. The position will contribute to strengthening Indiaโ€™s engagement within BRICS on issues of agriculture, food systems, climate resilience, and sustainable development.

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (Not all inclusive)

    Under the overall supervision of the Country Director, WFP India, and the joint supervision of the Joint Secretary (IC), MoAFW, and Partnerships Officer, WFP India, the Consultant will be responsible for the following duties:

    Technical and Analytical Support

    • Provide high-quality analytical inputs on domestic and international developments related to BRICS cooperation in agriculture.
    • Review and synthesize global agricultural trends, innovations, and policy updates from reliable sources including official portals, academic journals, and multilateral institutions.
    • Analyse country-specific and cross-country agricultural strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities to identify potential areas for collaboration under BRICS.

      Policy and Documentation Support

      • Examine draft declarations, issue notes, and other working documents received from the BRICS Secretariat and provide well-researched analytical inputs for senior officials.
      • Prepare background notes, talking points, and briefing materials for Indian delegations attending BRICS, bilateral, and multilateral meetings.
      • Draft concept notes, proposals, meeting summaries, and coordination briefs for internal and inter-ministerial circulation.

        Event Coordination and Logistical Support

        • Support the planning and execution of BRICS Agriculture Working Group meetings, seminars, and workshops.
        • Coordinate with relevant divisions, ministries, and external partners for logistical arrangements, event scheduling, and documentation.
        • Ensure timely preparation and dissemination of meeting folders, reports, and follow-up communications.
