Background

The Development Partners in Health Kenya (DPHK) was created in 2009. The DPHK is a group of development partners providing technical and financial support to the Government of Kenya to implement the Kenya Health Strategic Plan. The DPHK is guided by principles of aid effectiveness set out in the Paris Declaration on Aid Effectiveness and further elaborated by the Kenya Development Effectiveness Group (DEG), as well as partnership principles and commitments set out in the Health Sector Partnership & Coordination Framework (2020). The DPHK ensures the support of the development partners is done in a coordinated and harmonized manner and in alignment with the Government of Kenya's priorities.

To support the operations of the DPHK secretariat, the World Health Organisation Kenya Country Office was selected to host the secretariat. WHO plays an important role in ensuring the activities of the DPHK are well coordinated and fully aligned with the goal and purpose of the DPHK.ย  The DPHK secretariat manages the overall coordination of operations, including communications, meetings, and engagements with the key external stakeholders, including the Ministry of Health and Council of Governors.

Purpose of the position

The position will coordinate the activities of the DPHK secretariat by providing operations and technical support for the fulfilment of the DPHK mandate.ย  The officer is expected to be proactive and contribute to the strong partnership of DPHK with the Ministry of Health.
