Mission and objectivesUNDPโs mandate is to end poverty, build democratic governance, rule of law, and inclusive institutions. We advocate for change, and connect countries to knowledge, experience and resources to help people build a better life. The UNDP Office in Montenegro was established in 2007. The CO supports the country in strengthening the institutional capacities, green economic growth and development, inclusion of marginalized groups in line with national priorities of the EU accession process which is a key driver of the countryโs reform agenda. UNDP work in the country set with UNDP Country Programme Documents for 2017-2021 and Integrated UN Programme for Montenegro 2017 -2021 (extended to 2022). The CO Programme is mainly concentrated on advice and support to the Government to better align the legislative and policy frameworks with EU standards and strengthen capacities of national counterparts, in particular when it comes to social sector reforms, reform of judiciary, economic reforms, environmental sustainability through management of the protected areas and promoting low carbon development and in responding to obligations towards UNFCCC. Given the upper middle-income context, the bilateral assistance is limited, and donor landscape is dominated by the EU. UNDP funding increasingly comes directly from the Government (including local Government) to assist Ministries in designing and implementing the reforms.
ContextUNDP Montenegro is enhancing its communication strategy by aligning its content with global UNDP messaging and increasing engagement through LinkedIn, newsletters, and website updates. The online volunteer will contribute to external engagement efforts by developing high-quality content to ensure UNDP Montenegroโs digital presence remains impactful. The online volunteerโs research will focus on UNDP global channels, external engagement strategies, and content related to UN observances, ensuring alignment with regional platforms such as UNDP Eurasia. UNDP Montenegro will provide ongoing support, guidance, and feedback throughout the assignment to ensure success.
Task DescriptionThe online volunteer will support the communications team with the following tasks: Social Media Strategy & Engagement o Assist with LinkedIn content planning, ensuring alignment with UNDPโs global communication priorities. o Optimize post engagement through content scheduling, audience insights, and analytics review. o Refine the tone of voice for LinkedIn posts targeted at an international audience. Content Creation & Writing o Draft and edit 24 LinkedIn posts (2 per week) covering UNDP Montenegroโs key initiatives. o Assist in writing 3 newsletter sections (monthly) featuring success stories and ongoing projects. o Support website updates with 4 content pieces on UNDP initiatives in Montenegro.
