Support the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of activities and projects related to Immigration and Border Governance (IBG), in coordination with field offices and institutional counterparts, particularly those linked to regularization processes, immigration and visas, border control systems, database interoperability, detection of fraudulent documents, and combating migrant smuggling,supportingย compliance with identified needs and the integration of protection. Monitor issues and developments related to IBG and their linkages with Protection in Ecuador and the region and contribute to the preparation of thematic reports and public policy proposals. Systematize and document good practices, lessons learned, and recommendations to strengthen Immigration and Border Governance. Provide support to the implementation of protection programs and projects, integrating the protection approach into IBG interventions. Participate in coordination processes with government counterparts, the private sector, civil society, and international partners to contribute toย the effective implementation of projects and policies. Draft periodic progress reports, consolidating quantitative and qualitative information for internal and external reporting, including to donors. Coordinate logistical, technical, and administrative aspects of meetings, workshops, trainings, field visits, and community activities related to IBG. Deliver presentations and training modules to beneficiaries on relevant IBG thematic areas. Monitor challenges and opportunities related to IBG, in close coordination with the Regional Thematic Specialist (RTS) and the relevant Divisions at Headquarters; share timely information on calls, expressions of interest, and other relevant opportunities in coordination with the Program Support Unit of IOM Ecuador. Perform any other duties related to the professional profile as assigned by the Unit Coordinator or the Chief of Mission. Education
University degree in Law, Social Sciences, International Relations, Political Science, Human Rights, Development, International Cooperation, or other related fields, with at least three (3) years of relevant professional experience; or High school diploma with at least five (5) years of relevant professional experience. At least 3 years of experience in migration and border management, as well as in coordination with law enforcement authorities. Proven work experience in the areas of migrant protection, human trafficking, and/or migrant smuggling. Proven work experience in project monitoring, with an emphasis on the design and implementation of policies, strategies, and programs, including database management, in areas relevant to Migration and Border Governance (IBG) and Protection. International diplomas will be an advantage. Experience in migration policy, human rights, and international cooperation will be valued. Strong command of IT tools: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and collaborative platforms (Teams, SharePoint). Ability to systematize, analyze, and present information to support decision-making.
