Work LocationBogota Expected duration6 months Duties and ResponsibilitiesThese positions are located in the Transport Team of the United Nations Verification Mission in Colombia (UNVMC). The incumbents will be based in Bogota and will report to the assigned supervisor. The Individual Contractor will be responsible for the following tasks: - The incumbent is responsible for the completion of a variety of specialized activities enabling the efficient operations of the transportation/vehicle fleet in line with UN Rules and Regulations, as well with the Surface Transport Manual. - Performs Electronic Vehicle Monitoring System (EVMS) functions. - Maintains complete records and documents of all related transactions and entries. - Process scheduled and corrective maintenance requests received from all duty stations (remote locations included). - Issue Service Request Orders as stipulated in the contract. - Proactive coordination of scheduled maintenance of vehicles. - Monitors the quality of body, electrical, and mechanical repair work completed for all UN fleet vehicles. - Provides technical input into the preparation of Statement of Work (SOW) for potential contractors and the evaluation of the viability of maintenance and repair proposals received by the mission. - Coordinates insurance support and recovery of vehicles when needed. - Ensures that insurance documents, techno-mechanical revision and fire extinguishers are maintained and up to date. - Monitors contractual performance of vendors and verifies financial invoices if required. - Performs other related duties if needed as back-up such Dispatch related activities. - Assess the road safety campaign of the Unit. - Generates complete and up-to-date inventory reports. - Incorporates correspondence and relevant status reports/technical reports as required. - Manages the repair and service of a multi type vehicle fleet at multiple workshops in separate locations, including regular maintenance, ad-hoc repair, body shop, and painting. Qualifications/special skillsHigh school diploma or equivalent is required. A minimum of 5 years of experience in Transport Operations, Fleet Management or related area is required. Experience in road safety awareness and Electronic Vehicle Monitoring System (EVMS) management is desirable. Experience in driving tests and examinations as instructor is desirable. Valid Driving License is required. Certificate or evidence of safe driving records in Colombia is required. Technical certification in Transport duties/operations is desirable. LanguagesEnglish and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For these positions, fluency in Spanish is required, and knowledge of English is required.
