    ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT:

    In January 2025, the Government of Indonesia launched the Makan Bergizi Gratis or Free Nutritious Meals Programme (FNMP), a transformative flagship programme to invest in the human capital of its young generation, supporting the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision and the goal of achieving 8 percent economic growth by 2029. It is designed to tackle multisectoral development challenges by improving nutrition, health and education, boosting local agricultural production, strengthening food systems and reducing poverty.โ€‹

    The programme aims to reach 83 million beneficiaries by 2025, including infants, pregnant and breastfeeding women, and school-aged children. The government's progress has been swiftโ€”over 1,100 kitchens were established in the first five months, providing meals to over 3.5 million beneficiaries.โ€‹ WFP is committed to supporting the Government of Indonesia, to enhance the sustainability, effectiveness and impact of the FNMP, by strengthening institutional capacities, providing tailored technical assistance and augmenting implementation capacities to achieve long-term improvements across education, nutrition and the local economy. The Programme Policy Officer SC8 will report directly to the Head of School Meals, and under the overall supervision of the Deputy Country Director.

    JOB PURPOSE:

    To support the government with the technical, operational and strategic implementation of the Free Nutritious Meals Programme, ensuring alignment with the national priorities and WFP standards.
